Hi Massimo, I totally agree - even the best martial artist can be caught off guard or face a large number of attackers like the champion cage fighter recently put in hospital by 5 or 6 attackers. Situational awareness seems to be the most important factor, making sure you dont put yourself in a situation that may turn nasty, or recognising when things are moving in a bad way. Can you teach that? Or is it part of our natural defense mechanisms that we are all born with. Martial arts and self defence training gives you the tools to use when you cant find a way out, but does martial arts training teach you how to recognise a bad situation?
